Work

I have been making things for thirty years as a hobby and I am still learning. Today I design objects and teach IB and GCSE design. Before that, eleven years of urban design: masterplans and regeneration in London and Athens. I research before I draw, and I still take on city and place studies when the project is right.

Design
Wall hooks, cast knobs, a floor lamp and a bedside table, modelled with adaptable digital files and tested by hand. The knob mould has a locking wall, so its two halves only fit together one way.
Teaching
I run a school design workshop and guide IB and GCSE projects from first sketch to finished object: 24 GCSE coursework projects and 48 individual projects so far.
Research
Users, materials and existing solutions, before anything is drawn. I think in systems: how a thing fits the people, places and processes around it, a habit from my planning training at The Bartlett and high-level design practice.
